Puzzles with nothing between you and the next picture.

EmberRidge builds small Android apps that live on the handset: no account, no connection, no adverts, nothing to buy. The current one is Lumidot, where a scatter of dots becomes an outline and the outline becomes colour.

A calm app cannot afford a single interruption

The whole promise of a colouring puzzle is that nothing in it is urgent. That promise survives exactly until the first full-screen advert lands between two pictures, or a palette turns out to cost coins, or a picture you were halfway through asks you to watch something before it will open again. One interruption is enough to turn a wind-down into a chore.

So Lumidot has no adverts anywhere, no coins, no palettes for sale and no picture behind a paywall. Every image in the library opens immediately, your progress on each one is kept, and the app never asks for anything except which language you would like.

Finished pieces go to a gallery on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, so the collection is yours alone — there is no feed to post it to and nobody to compare it with.

Connect the Light, Then Colour It

Watch a scatter of dots become a picture, one number at a time. First connect them: tap the numbered points in order and the outline of a hidden image draws itself across the screen. Then bring it to life — every area carries a number telling you which colour belongs in it, and you tap your way through, area by area, until the whole thing glows.

No timers and no pressure — just the quiet pleasure of tracing a shape into being and filling it in. Work through a large library across themes, from constellations and animals to flowers and patterns, with the pictures growing more detailed as you go. Progress is saved on every image, so one can be put down and picked up later, and finished pieces are collected in a gallery to look back on.

Where the dots have to go

One fixed outline, no numbers to tap and nothing to colour. The question this bench answers is the one behind every picture in the app: given a limited number of dots, which points of a shape do you keep? Move the count and switch between the two ways of choosing.

One shape, no numbers, no colours, no library and nothing saved — there is nothing here to finish. Lumidot is the part where the dots are numbered, the areas are keyed to a palette, and the picture is waiting to be lit up.
